- Mixed Practice Veterinarian
Description
Roxbury Animal Hospital is a mixed animal veterinary practice situated in beautiful Litchfield County, Connecticut where traditional farming culture meets modern lifestyles and high-quality veterinary medicine is practiced on all species, with a common sense, hometown approach. This is the modern-day, Connecticut style version of All Creatures Great & Small.
Our caseload is approximately 50% small animals, 25% equine, and 25% farm animals, although this can vary seasonally. We currently have 6 full-time doctors and a fully staffed team of credentialed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, front desk staff, a full-time inventory manager and full-time practice manager. We manage our own on-call service and are lucky to have many specialists in all species in the vicinity to assist with case management or for referrals.
RAH is rapidly expanding with an ever-increasing volume of new clients, patients, and demand for veterinary care in the area. In February 2026, we moved into our new 5,000 sq. foot purpose-built veterinary hospital. Our hospital equipment includes a full suite of laboratory machines for in-house chemistry, CBC and ancillary analytes, DR digital radiology equipment (small animal, dental and mobile equine), small animal dental unit, equine power float, laser therapy unit, light therapy unit, Sonoscape ProPet free-standing ultrasound machine, and mobile ultrasound. Within the next 1-2 years, we plan to add a CT scanner and endoscopy suite to our equipment and services offered. Within the next 3-5 years, we plan to build a large animal barn on-site to allow for on-site procedures and hospitalization of horses and farm animals.
We welcome applicants of any background, whether you are an experienced mixed animal veterinarian, a veterinarian considering expanding from one species to many, or you have just graduated from veterinary school. It’s an exciting time to work at Roxbury Animal Hospital and we look forward to adding another doctor to the team!
