Description
Animal Welfare Assistance of Georgia is a veterinarian owned and operated organization focused on providing quality medical and surgical services to municipal shelters in the Atlanta area, with the goal of expanding to help under-served shelters across the state of Georgia. We are a team of veterinarians and support staff with well over 30 years combined experience in veterinary medicine and in working with municipal shelters in the metro Atlanta area. We are hiring full-time veterinarians to provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care to shelter animals, including diagnosis, treatment, and oversight of herd health programs in shelters. The veterinarian will perform spay/neuter and other surgical procedures, develop and implement medical protocols, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaboration with shelter leadership, animal care staff, and community partners is essential to support lifesaving initiatives, control disease transmission, and promote best practices in animal welfare.
We offer competitive salary (minimum 145k annually and up based on experience), alternating four-day/five-day work weeks, four weeks (20 days) PTO plus an additional five paid days for CE, paid holidays, discounted services for personal pets, access to medical and dental insurance, and a $5000 annual stipend for CE costs, licensing and professional membership fees, and other work related expenses.
